Last month, Oppo took the wraps off the Reno 8 series of smartphones in China. The series consists of the following devices—the vanilla Oppo Reno 8, Oppo Reno 8 Pro, and the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+. All three handsets are powered by different chipsets.
Now, ahead of the global launch, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G has popped up on Geekbench. The listing reveals that the smartphone will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset, which is different from the Chinese version. In China, the Reno 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ features the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max and the Reno 8 comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G Global Variant: Geekbench Listing, Specifications
The Geekbench listing reveals that the Oppo Reno 8 Pro global variant sports the model number CPH2357. It will be equipped with an octa-core CPU with four cores running at 2GHz and the other four cores clocking in at 2.85GHz. The chipset will be accompanied by the Mali-G610 MC6 GPU.

Additionally, the listing shows that the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G global variant will have 12GB of RAM. Moreover, the handset will run Android 12 out of the box. As per the Geekbench 5 benchmark results, the Reno 8 Pro 5G gets a score of 898 points in the single-core test and secures 3555 points in the multi-core test.
The Chinese variant of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G sports a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device supports up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. It is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. When it comes to imaging, the handset includes a primary 50MP camera, an 8MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, it gets a 32MP front-facing camera. Moreover, it has a MariSilicon X NPU for low-light imaging.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro: Price, Availability
The Oppo Reno 8 Pro price starts at CNY 2,999 (around ₹35,000) in China. The Reno 8 series is rumoured to launch in India in July.
