It comes with a magnesium alloy construction and water/dust resistant body to withstand abuse. Panasonic says it has incorporated cooling tech in the Lumix GH6 from the full-frame cameras, which uses a sturdily built fan that can also repel dust and splashes.
Talking about its sensor, the effective pixels of the GH6 are up by about 20 percent in the new 25.2-megapixel Live MOS sensor. Further, the upgraded sensor offers a more dynamic range. Supporting the sensor is a new Venus Engine processor, which gets advanced image-processing tech to render high-res images and provides a rich colour reproduction. According to the company, the Venus engine improves on three aspects, namely Intelligent Detail Processing, new 2D Noise Reduction, and High Precision 3D Noise Reduction for video.
In terms of video recording, the camera supports 5.7K shooting at up to 60fps. It can also shoot 4K UHD or DCI at 120fps with audio on. The GH6 comes with V-Log, V-Gamut, and provides 13+ stops of a wide dynamic range.
The camera comes with in-body image stabilisation that makes use of a 5-axis gyroscope and advanced algorithms for up to 7.5 stops of correction. The Lumix GH6 utilises the IBIS for a handheld multi-shot mode. This allows clicking 100-megapixel high-res shots without a tripod.
The Panasonic LUMIX GH6 has the ability to shoot 4:2:2 10-bit C4K at 60p with no recording limit. It can also do 4:2:0 10-bit 4K 120p and 4:2:2 10-bit FHD 240p High Frame Rate (HFR) video recording with audio. You can also record timelapse videos in 4K at 60p.
Connectivity features include CFexpress Type B cards support, UHS-II SD port, HDMI, USB-C charging, Wi-Fi-5, Bluetooth v5.0, and tethered shooting mode via PC, among others.
