The POCO M5 will go on sale in India for the first time today. The device was launched by POCO in the country a few days back. It is a mid-range device from POCO that comes with a 6.5-inch display featuring Full HD+ resolution and an adaptive 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is powered by a Helio G99 SoC which is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, and a 50MP camera.

The POCO M5 price in India starts at ₹12,499 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version. The variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage costs ₹14,499. The device comes in Icy Blue, Power Black, and POCO Yellow colour options.
As a part of the launch offer, interested buyers can get ₹1,500 discount with ICICI Bank and Axis Bank credit cards. Additionally, users can avail discounts of up to ₹500 with Super Coin. The first 10,000 customers will get a 1-year Disney+ Hotstar subscription for free. Additionally, POCO is offering 6 months of free screen protection for day 1 customers. The device will be available for purchase in India via Flipkart.

The display panel has up to 500 nits brightness, 30Hz/60Hz/90Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the device is equipped with MediaTek’s octa-core Helio G99 processor. The System On Chip consists of 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The device also has microSD card support for storage expansion up to 512GB.
On the software side of things, the POCO M5 runs Android 12 OS with MIUI 13 on top. The device features a 50MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. Both the 2MP sensors have an f/2.4 aperture. Selfies can be captured on the device with an 8MP camera which is located beneath the water-drop-shaped notch.
Furthermore, the smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery that offers 18W fast charging. Connectivity-wise, the POCO M5 offers a host of features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Hi-Res Audio. Additionally, the device has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, and IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance.
