Realme launched two new smartphones—Realme 8s 5G and Realme 8i—in India today. Both these smartphones are equipped with a MediaTek processor and a quad-camera setup. Both the devices also feature Realme’s ‘Virtual RAM’ for supposed better multitasking. The Realme 8s 5G features a 6.5-inch display and is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor, a 64MP triple-camera setup, and a 16MP selfie camera. On the other hand, the Realme 8i comes with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ display, a 50MP triple-camera setup, a 16MP selfie camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery.

The smartphone will be available for purchase starting September 13, 2021, via Flipkart, realme.com, and authorised offline stores.
The Realme 8i price in India starts at ₹13,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while the version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs ₹15,999. The device will be available from Flipkart, realme.com, and offline stores from September 14. The Realme 8i comes in Space Black and Space Purple colour options.
Realme 8s 5G, Realme 8i Specifications, Features
The Realme 8s 5G features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution (2,400 × 1,080 pixels). The display panel has 600 nits of peak brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor, 6GB/8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. For storage expansion, the device also has a microSD card slot. Both the Realme 8s 5G and the Realme 8i run Android 11 out of the box. The Realme 8s 5G also has 5GB ‘Virtual RAM’ support.
In the imaging department, the Realme 8s 5G uses a 64MP quad-camera setup. The 64MP main camera is accompanied by a 2MP monochrome camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Both the 2MP sensors have an F2.4 aperture. The Realme 8s 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. Connectivity features include 5G (SA/NSA), dual-4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, a USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Moving onto the Realme 8i specifications, it sports a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 600 nits brightness. Powering the Realme 8i is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 processor which features a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The phone ships in 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB onboard storage. It has a triple-camera setup at the rear, featuring a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. There is a 16MP selfie camera at the front. Other features include a dual-SIM card slot, dual-4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, a USB Type-C port, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
Both the Realme 8i and the Realme 8s 5G feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button. Similar to the Realme 8s 5G, the Realme 8i also has 5G virtual RAM support.
