While the newly launched Realme 9 5G smartphone would fit the bill for most users, the Realme 9 5G SE (aka Speed Edition) is bound to excite mobile gamers on a budget. This variant of the phone is powered by the very potent Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, which is also found on the Realme GT Master Edition, Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, Samsung Galaxy M52 5G, and the iQOO Z5.

The Realme 9 5G SE is built using a polycarbonate body but gets a “Starlight” design for the back panel for a premium look. Despite the large battery, it has a thickness of 8.5mm and weighs 199g. It flaunts a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution, a 144Hz screen refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display comes with six levels of refresh rates steps, and the phone switches between them automatically, depending on the content to save battery. 

The Realme 9 5G SE is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, which is built on TSMC’s 6nm fabrication process. The processor performs brilliantly and doesn’t throttle much under sustained load. If you are a PUBG or BGMI player, this processor can provide you with a stable 60fps frame rate. It is equipped with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. You can expand the storage further via the microSD card slot. 

In terms of camera, this one too gets the exact same triple-camera setup as the Realme 9 5G. The primary camera is a 48MP snapper with an F1.8 aperture and 6P lens, supported by a 2MP monochrome portrait lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Selfie duties are handled by the 16MP shooter housed in the punch hole cut-out on the display.

The Realme 9 5G SE price in India starts at ₹19,999 for the 6GB+128GB storage variant. The top variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at ₹22,999. You can buy it in Azure Glow and Starry Glow colours. The smartphone will go on sale in India from March 14, 2022, via Flipkart, Realme’s website, and other online channels.
