Realme has introduced its first laptop in India. Albeit a rather unimaginative name, the Realme Book Slim sports an exciting design. As per the brand, the laptop features an aluminium alloy body carved using CNC and sandblasting processes. At 15mm, it is quite thin and tips the scales at just 1.4kg. Another highlight of this laptop is its slim bezel design. Thanks to the 8.45mm top bezel and 5.3mm side bezel, the laptop delivers a screen ratio of 90%, which is higher than the MacBook Air.
The laptop is powered by Intel’s 11th Gen processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics. It has up to 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. It has plenty of ports fast ports, but lacks a dedicated HDMI port. It has fast charging, a backlit keyboard, and a large trackpad.
Realme Book Slim Specifications
Realme’s laptop comes with a 14-inch IPS LCD display with QHD resolution (2,160 x 1,440 pixels). The panel covers 100% sRGB colour gamut and has a peak brightness of 400 nits. For typing, the Realme Book Slim offers a backlit keyboard with a 1.3mm key travel. It is accompanied by a large trackpad that is compatible with Microsoft’s PTP Precision Touch Technology. The laptop’s power button houses a fingerprint scanner for security.
It is powered by Intel’s 11th Gen. Core i3/Core i5 processor based on the 10nm SuperFin manufacturing process. Graphics are handled by Intel’s Iris Xe integrated graphics. According to Realme, The Iris Xe performs better than discrete graphics cards such as the Nvidia MX350. The notebook should have no issues running the League of Legends and Overwatch at high visual settings and 60fps or higher frame rates. Moreover, AAA titles such as Shadow of the Tomb Raider should be playable on low settings. To keep the system running cool, Realme has equipped the laptop with a dual-fan solution.
In India, the laptop will be available with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD storage. It comes with a built-in HD camera for all your WFH team meetings. The notebook has two speakers tuned by Harman. The device has 2 mics with support for Elevoc Vocplus AI noise cancellation algorithms.
Despite its slim design, the laptop features a USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 port along with a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2, and a Thunderbolt 4 port. It does, however, miss out on an HDMI port. Other features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The Realme Book Slim is powered by a 54Wh battery with a claimed endurance of around 8.5 hours on a single charge. It supports 65W fast charging technology that can top up 50% battery in half an hour.
On the software front, you get Windows 10 with a few Realme programmes stuffed in. Realme’s PC Connect functionality forms a bridge between your Windows laptop and an Android smartphone. Realme claims that it allows users to access mobile apps directly on the laptop. Moreover, you can share files between two devices with simple drag and drop.
