Realme GT 2 and Realme GT 2 Pro Launched in China: Price, Specifications

Realme has finally launched the Realme GT 2 series handsets at an event in China. The GT 2 series consists of two devices—the Realme GT 2 and Realme GT 2 Pro. Realme with the GT 2 series is introducing a new bio-based design that brings SABIS biopolymer material-based back panel. These are designed by famous Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. As a result, the Realme GT 2 and Realme GT 2 Pro also come in Master Edition variants—Paper, and Sen. Realme GT 2 Specifications and Features

The Realme GT 2 flaunts a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixel) resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate. The display panel can go as high as 1,300nits in terms of brightness and supports 100% DCI-P3, and a 50,00,000:1 contrast ratio. It also houses an optical in-display fingerprint sensor and is protected under Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Powering the Realme GT 2 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which is built on a 5nm fabrication process. The Snapdragon 888 comes coupled with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Realme GT 2 boots Realme UI 3.0, based on Android 12.

Talking about the cameras, the latest Realme flagship offers a triple-rear camera setup and a LED flash. The primary sensor on the device is a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with a 1/1.56 inch sensor size, 84.4° field-of-view, an f/1.8 aperture, and OIS. Accompanying it is an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with  119° field of view and f/2.2 aperture. It also has a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, the device features a 16MP Sony IMX471 lens with a 78° field of view and f/2.5 aperture.

The Realme GT 2 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery unit and 65W fast charging support. It packs a Type-C port, a dual stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, and Hi-res audio. In terms of connectivity, the device offers Dual-SIM, 5G, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, Multifunctional NFC, and Dual-band GPS. The handset measures 162.9 x 75.8 x 8.6 mm and weighs 199.8grams, whereas the Master edition variants weigh 194.5grams.

Realme GT 2 Pro Specifications and Features

The GT 2 Pro features a 6.7-inch E4 LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with a Quad HD+ (3,216 × 1,440 pixel) resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,400nits peak brightness. It supports a 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The display houses an optical in-display fingerprint scanner and comes with Corning Gorilla Victus protection.

The Realme GT 2 Pro sports an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is built on Samsung’s 4nm fabrication process and comes with an Adreno 730 GPU. The handset packs up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset comes pre-loaded with Android 12 based Realme UI 3.0.

On the optics front, the handset offers a triple-rear camera setup and a LED flash. The primary shooter on the smartphone is a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with a 1/1.56 inch sensor size, 84.4° field-of-view, and an f/1.8 aperture. There is another 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor with 150° field-of-view and f/2.2 aperture that works as an ultra-wide-angle camera. The handset also offers a 2MP ultra macro camera. For selfies and video calls, there is a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

The Realme GT 2 Pro is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery unit and 65W fast charging support. The handset has a Type-C port, a dual stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, and Hi-res audio. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM, 5G, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, Multifunctional NFC, and Dual-band GPS. The smartphone measures 163. x 74.7 x 8.2 mm and weighs 199 grams. Whereas, the Master edition variants of the GT 2 Pro weigh 189grams.

Realme GT 2 Series Pricing and Availability

The Realme GT 2 series devices will go on sale starting January 7 in China. As a launch offer, Realme is offering RMB 200 discount and RMB 100 on the purchase of the Realme GT 2 Pro and Realme GT 2 respectively. These handsets come in four color variants—Forged Black, Titanium Blue, Master Paper and Master Sen.
