Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched two new smartphones in the Redmi 9 lineup—Redmi 9i Sport and the Redmi 9A Sport—in India today. The launch of these two devices comes right after Xiaomi launched the Redmi 9 Activ in India last week. The Redmi 9i Sport and the Redmi 9A Sport pack the MediaTek Helio G25 processor. On the software front, these smartphones run Android 11 out of the box. Both the smartphones have identical specifications in almost all aspects, but they come in different RAM and storage configurations. Let us take a look at the features of these devices.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9A Sport price in India is ₹6,999, for which users get 2GB RAM and a 32GB storage model. The 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage costs ₹7,999.
Both the Xiaomi Redmi 9i Sport and the Xiaomi Redmi 9A Sport come in three colour variants: Carbon Black, Coral Green, and Metallic Blue. Both phones are available for purchase starting today via Mi.com and Mi Home Stores. The Redmi 9i Sport will be also available through Flipkart, whereas the Redmi 9A Sport can be purchased from Amazon India.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9i Port and the Xiaomi Redmi 9A Sport have nearly identical specifications. To begin with the display, both the phones feature a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution (1,600 x 720 pixels). These devices are equipped with the MediaTek Helio G25 processor. The Redmi 9A Sport packs up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, whereas the 9i Sport comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. These devices run Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 12 on top.
Imaging is handled by a single 13MP rear-facing camera on both smartphones. At the front, these devices have a 5MP selfie camera. These devices have AI Face Unlock support. Both of them have a P2i coating for splash resistance. Connectivity-wise, both these handsets have a dual-SIM card slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. A 5,000mAh battery is used to power these handsets and they support 10W charging.
