Xiaomi recently announced the EOD (end of support) for some of its mid-range devices launched in 2019. The brand has now added another device to the list ahead of the Redmi K50i launch in India—the Redmi K20 Pro. This means that the Redmi K20 Pro will not be getting software updates in the future. To those unaware, the K20 Pro was launched alongside the Redmi K20 back in July 2019 and is the company’s most premium offering under the Redmi lineup to date.
Xiaomi says that it might not even respond to security vulnerabilities reported for the Redmi K20 Pro in the future. The Redmi K20 Pro was launched back in 2019 with MIUI 10.3, based on Android 9.0. The brand updated it to MIUI 11, MIUI 12, and MIUI 12.5. The last update for the handset was released last year in July and is based on Android 11. Based on the latest decision, it looks like the Redmi K20 Pro will not be updated to MIUI 13.
