Xiaomi has announced three new smartphones—Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 9 5G, and Redmi Note 9 4G—in China. Two of these smartphones, the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 4G, will soon be launched in India as Xiaomi Mi 10i and the Redmi 9 Power. However, we don’t know the exact launch dates for India yet. The Redmi Note 9 4G went on sale in China soon after the announcement, and the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 9 5G went on sale today.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G Specifications

The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has a 6.67-inch Full HD + 20:9 LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate (6 stops ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz). The screen has a resolution of 2,400×1,080 pixels, a 395 ppi pixel density, 450 nits of brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor that has the Adreno 619 GPU. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is available in 3 variants: 6GB RAM+128GB storage, 8GB RAM+128GB storage, and 8GB RAM+256GB storage. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G runs Android 10 with MIUI 12, More importantly, it supports 5G SA/NSA connectivity.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has a total of 4 cameras at the rear: 108MP camera (1/1.52-inch Samsung HM2 sensor), an 8MP ultrawide camera (120-degree FoV), a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro camera. At the front, it has a 16MP selfie camera hidden inside a 3.8mm tiny notch in the screen. The rear-facing camera can record 4K 30fps videos, while the front-facing camera is limited to just 1080p 30fps video recording.

The smartphone’s connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (also known as Wi-Fi 5), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is available in three colours: Blue, Red, and Gray. The Redmi Note 9 4G measures 165.4×76.8x9mm and weighs 215g. The smartphone is powered by a 4,820mAh battery and has 33W fast charging. The company advertises that the phone gets fully charged in just 58 minutes.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 5G has a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen, 450 nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a resolution of 2,340×1,080 pixels and 395ppi pixel density. It has an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G (7nm) processor with Mali-G57 MC3 GPU. The Redmi Note 9 5G runs Android 10 with MIUI 12. The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and has 18W fast charging.

Redmi Note 9 4G has 6.53-inch Full HD + LCD Screen, 450 nits brightness and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 Pixels, 395 ppi pixel density. It has an octa-core Qualcomm SM6115 Snapdragon 662 processor with Adreno 610 GPU. The Redmi Note 9 4G also runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12. The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and has 18W fast charging.

The Redmi Note 4G has a triple-camera setup at the rear. It has a 48MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. At the front, the phone has an 8MP selfie camera. The rear and front camera is limited to just 1080p 30fps video recording, which is a disappointment.

As mentioned above, the Redmi Note 9 4G went on sale soon after its announcement, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 9 5G went on sale today. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G price starts from CNY 1,599, the Redmi Note 9 5G’s price starts from CNY 1,299, and the Redmi Note 9 4G’s price starts from CNY 999.
