Reliance Jio has widened its reach by launching its 4G services in Spangmik village near Pangong lake, Ladakh. This makes it the first telecom operator to offer 4G mobile connectivity in the area. A popular tourist spot in Ladakh, Pangong lake is known for its scenic beauty.
Hon’ble Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal inaugurated the Jio Mobile Tower at Spangmik village near Pangong Lake. Namgyal congratulated the residents of the village, saying that Jio has finally fulfilled their wishes. He added, “This launch will boost the economy of the region besides providing seamless connectivity to the tourists and the troops in the area”.

Jio stated that it has been working on widening its network in remote regions of Ladakh. It aims to provide its services even in remote locations to boost connectivity.
A Reliance Jio representative spoke about the hardships faced in its endeavour to bolster 4G services, “Overcoming the challenge of extremely difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions, Team Jio continues with its efforts of reaching the remotest parts of the Union Territory to ensure that people remain in touch in the areas which otherwise remain cut off from the rest of the country for months”.

Last month, Jio commenced its services in the villages of Urbis, Kanji, Hanupatta, and Chunglungkha. The telco is also offering JioFiber broadband services in Leh.
