India’s largest telecom operator Reliance Jio has hiked the prices of its 4G prepaid plans. This comes right after Reliance’s competitors Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) increased the prices of their prepaid recharge plans by 20-25% just last week. The price hike of Reliance Jio’s 4G prepaid plans will be valid starting December 1, 2021. The base plan, which used to cost ₹75, will now cost ₹91. In the ₹91 plan, you get 3GB of data per month, unlimited voice calling benefits and 50 SMS.

Get the latest technology news, reviews, and opinions on tech products right into your inboxStarting December 1, 2021, the unlimited plan that used to start at ₹129 is now priced at ₹155. Under the ₹155 plan, users get 2GB of data per month, unlimited voice calls, and 300 SMS.
The ₹149 Jio prepaid plan that comes with a validity of 24 days will now cost ₹179. Customers will get 1GB of 4G data per day along with 100 SMS and unlimited voice calls in the ₹179 plan.
The 56-days validity plan used to cost ₹399 earlier, but it will now cost ₹479. Under the ₹479 plan, users get benefits such as 1.5GB of data per day, unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMS per day. Similarly, the other prepaid plans—₹329, ₹555, ₹1,299, and ₹2,399—will be available at ₹395, ₹666, ₹1,559, ₹2,879, respectively, from December 1, 2021.
Apart from increasing the prices of prepaid plans, Reliance Jio also has hiked the prices of data add-on packs as well. The base data add-on pack, which used to cost ₹51, will now cost ₹61. The ₹61 plan offers 6GB of data. Similarly, the ₹101 and ₹251 plans will cost ₹121 and ₹301, respectively, from December 1. Under the ₹121 plan, users will get 12GB of data, whereas the ₹301 plan gets access to 50GB of data.

These plans will provide the best value in the industry,” said Reliance Jio in a statement. The company further added that “Upholding the Jio promise of providing the best-quality service at the lowest price globally, Jio customers will continue to be the biggest beneficiaries”.
