Samsung has introduced the Samsung Galaxy S22 in a new colour option today. The South Korean smartphone maker has launched its flagship Galaxy S22 In Bora Purple colour. In Korean, the word “Bora” translates to “Purple”, so the new colour variant literally translates to “purple purple”. This new colour option will go on sale starting from August 10, 2022. On the same day, Samsung is also hosting its Galaxy 2022 Event where it will unveil its newest foldable smartphones and wearables.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Bora Purple Colour Option Introduced
Since its launch, the Galaxy S22 has been available in multiple colour options, including violet. The Galaxy S22 violet colour variant has a gold finish across the camera bump and the phone’s frame. On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 Bora Purple offers an entirely uniform paint job in purple at the back, including the camera bump and the frame. To recall, Samsung had previously introduced the Lilac Purple Galaxy S9, the Violet S22 series, and the Lavender Z Flip 3.
“With its pastel and neutral tones, Bora Purple embodies optimism and a sense of calm. It will unfold your world with the power of choice,” said Sonia Chang, VP of Global Brand Marketing Group, MX Business at Samsung Electronics.

Furthermore, Samsung has announced that more devices will be available in the Bora Purple colour option later this year. Initially, the brand will debut this new colour option for the Galaxy S22. The new colour variant will be available for purchase directly from Samsung as well as from AT&T, T-Mobile, UScellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Bora Purple will sell for $799.99 (roughly ₹63,900) from August 10. As of now, there’s no word on whether this new colour option will arrive in the Indian market.
