Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 foldable smartphones, and they received a very good market response. Rumour has it that Samsung is reconsidering the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition) smartphone owing to the huge demand for Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the ongoing semiconductor chip crisis. While the news may be a dampener to the fans, there are reports that the Galaxy S22 series is well on course for an early 2022 launch.
The folks over at 91Mobiles have leaked 3D CAD render images of the Samsung Galaxy S22+ smartphone. The images leave nothing to the imagination and the Galaxy S22+ seems to have carried over the Galaxy design of the Galaxy S21+. Samsung seems to have adopted the “Why fix it, if it’s not broken?” logic that Apple followed this year with the iPhone 13 series, which has been carrying the same design as two generations old iPhones.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ Design Overview
The images suggest that Olive Green is going to be one of the colour options for the Samsung Galaxy S22+. Presumably, the smartphone will feature the same premium glass-and-aluminium sandwich build as its predecessor. The handset will be slightly slimmer at 7.6mm (9.1mm if the camera bump is included in the measurement).
The report further suggests that the Galaxy S22+ will have a 6.55-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is a bit smaller than the 6.7-inch display of the Galaxy S21+. There is a punch-hole-shaped cutout in the display for the front-facing camera. At the rear, there’s a vertically arranged triple-camera housing.
Multiple antenna lines on its aluminium frame suggest it will come equipped with various 5G bands. The volume buttons and the power button are placed on the right side of the handset. The USB Type-C port and the SIM tray are placed at the bottom of the handset. As with all the flagships nowadays, this one too misses out on a 3.5mm audio jack.

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Rumoured Specifications
It is safe to assume that the Galaxy S22+ will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 processor in some markets and the Exynos 2200 processor in other countries. The chipsets are rumoured to be based on Samsung’s 4nm fabrication technology and are expected to challenge the A15 Bionic chipset used in the iPhone 13. The Exynos 2200 chipset, which is the first Samsung processor to feature an AMD GPU, is said to be a game-changer in terms of graphics processing.
On the photography front, the Samsung S22+ is set to receive Samsung’s ISOCELL GN5 50MP camera sensor. It is the industry’s first 1.0μm image sensor to integrate Dual Pixel Pro, an all-directional autofocusing technology, that can substantially boost autofocusing capabilities. The other two rear-facing cameras include a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. At the front, the phone is expected to carry a 10MP selfie camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is said to be powered by a 4,500-mAh under its hood, which is about 300mAh lower in capacity than its predecessor. Also, it is expected to come with 45W fast charging support as compared to the measly 25W fast charging speeds on the Galaxy S21+. It is expected to be priced around ₹80,000 n the Indian market.
