Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 with 10.5-inch Display and Quad Speaker Setup Launched: Specifications, Features

Samsung has unveiled its latest budget-centric Android tablet—the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. The entertainment and education-focused Galaxy Tab A8 comes with a large display and a quad stereo speaker setup. The tablet offers an octa-core processor and up to 4GB RAM for a smooth multitasking experience. Let us take a closer look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 specifications, features, and availability.

The latest entry-level Galaxy tablet offers a 10.5-inch TFT LCD display with a WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 pixel) resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. Samsung says that the Tab A8 is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz without mentioning the processor details. However, leaks in past have suggested that the Tab A8 will be powered by a UniSoC Tiger T618 processor. For those unaware, the UniSoC T618 is built on a 12nm process and comes coupled with an integrated Mali G52 GPU.

The Galaxy Tab A8 packs an 8MP autofocus shooter at the back. Whereas for selfies and video calls, it offers a 5MP shooter. The device is equipped with a 7,040mAh battery and 15W fast charging, but the company plans to bundle a 7.5W charger in the box. It comes in three configurations—3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB and will retail in pink, gold, gray, and silver colour variants. The Tab A8 packs a USB 2.0 Type-C port, a micro-SD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It boots Android 11.

The Korean tech giant has also equipped the tablet with a quad stereo speaker setup, Dolby Atmos, Samsung Knox and Face Recognition. Connectivity options include LTE, Wi-Fi 5 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and Galileo. The Tab A8 measures 246.8 x 161.9 x 6.9mm and weighs 508g. Samsung will also launch a host of accessories for the Tab A8 including Book Cover, Clear Edge Cover, and Protective Standing Cover.

Samsung says that the Tab A8 will be available in Europe later this month. Whereas, people in other regions including the US will have to wait until January 2022 to get their hands on it.
