Alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, Samsung also unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+. The successors of the Galaxy Tab S7 and the Galaxy Tab S7+ use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and offer a dual-camera setup at the rear. These latest Samsung tablets support 45W fast charging and support 5G connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8+ come in two configurations – 8GB + 128GB, and 12GB + 256GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 flaunts an 11-inch LTPS TFT display with a WQXGA resolution (2,560×1,600 pixels), 276ppi pixel density, and 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy Tab S8+ features a 12.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a WQXGA+ resolution (2,800×1,752 pixels), 266ppi pixel density, and 120Hz refresh rate. The display panels on both these devices feature slim 8.95mm bezels, and the top bezel houses the front selfie camera.

Powering the Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+ is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor that is fabbed on a 4nm process. The processor has the powerful Adreno 730 GPU and the Snapdragon X65 5G modem. Both these tablets come with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. Users also have an option to expand the storage further up to 1TB via the microSD card slot.

The Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy S8+ come preloaded with Android 12, with One UI 4.1 skin on top. They will get four major Android OS updates and security updates for five years.

In terms of cameras, the Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+ feature a dual-rear camera setup and a LED flash. The primary shooter is a 13MP sensor and the secondary camera uses a 6MP ultrawide camera. For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+ come equipped with a 12MP sensor at the front. These tablets are capable of recording 4K videos at 60 frames per second.

The Galaxy Tab S8 is powered by an 8,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy Tab S8+ packs a 10,090mAh battery. Both tablets support 45W fast charging.

The Galaxy Tab S8 features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy Tab S8+ offers an in-display fingerprint scanner. In terms of connectivity, these tablets offer 5G (optional), Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.

The Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+ come with a quad-speaker setup with AKG tuning and Dolby Atmos. These also feature a triple-microphone setup for clearer audio. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+ will be available in three colour variants: Graphite, Silver, and Pink Gold.

This time around, Samsung has decided not to bundle the charging adapter in the box. So, you only get S Pen and a USB Type-C to USB Type-C charging cable, along with the tablet.
