The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is said to be launching later this year, and rumours of the upcoming watch are already making the rounds of the internet. Now, the latest Samsung Health update has revealed the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro branding. Additionally, it appears that we will have to bid adieu to the Classic model.
The new Galaxy Watch names were spotted by 9to5Google on the beta update for the Samsung Health app. The update, bearing version 6.22.0.069, does not introduce significant upgrades to the app. However, it adds support for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, which are expected to launch in August this year.
These Watch 4 Classic Features Could Be Dropped From 2022 Models
Notably, there is no mention of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Classic on the app. This means that the Watch 4 Classic could be the final model in the Classic series.
What differentiates the Classic variant from the regular Galaxy Watch models is the rotating physical bezel. This feature lets you scroll through menus to navigate the smartwatch. On the other hand, the Watch 4 has haptic feedback, which may not be quite as satisfying as whizzing through menus with the Classic’s rotating bezel. Moreover, it features a bigger display than the regular version.
As the Watch 5 Pro seemingly appears instead of the classic version, we can expect the Pro to have an improved battery life. Additionally, there are talks of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 gaining improved body temperature monitoring capabilities.
