Samsung recently launched its WindFree split air conditioners in India. Now, the electronics giant has announced its new DVM S2 Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) outdoor air conditioning unit. It is touted to work with indoor AC units “to provide windfree cooling that powerfully and gently cools the ambient temperature of the room”.
Samsung claims that its WindFree technology provides gentler cooling by avoiding harsh cold drafts. It reportedly does so by “dispersing air through 23,000 micro holes at a speed of 0.15 m/s that helps in creating a still air environment”.

Moreover, its ability to detect refrigerant leakage in real time is an added advantage.
According to Samsung, the DVM S2 is reported to be energy efficient as well. It utilises a four-core technology comprising a bigger heat exchanger, new high efficiency fan, upgraded power module and advanced scroll compressor.
The DVM S2 is Samsung’s sixth-gen Digital Variable Multi air conditioner, and will allow you to connect up to 64 Samsung indoor air conditioning units. The device is compatible with Samsung’s 1Way, 360 Cassette, 4Way, 4Way 600×600, Duct and Wall-Mounted models.
The outdoor unit sports a new aerodynamic design which is reported to make it quieter than previous generations. It also features an on-device inverter check for ease of maintenance. The DVM S2 features an advanced scroll compressor with Advanced Flash Injection (AFI) technology, a multi-serration fan, a bigger heat exchanger with optimized refrigerant flow, and more efficient power module.
