If you have ever used a recently released Samsung smartphone, you might have seen ads and push notifications in Samsung’s stock apps like Samsung Health, Samsung Pay, Samsung Themes, and Samsung Weather. Even users of the company’s flagship Galaxy S series smartphones were affected by unwanted advertisements. After a lot of backlashes, the South Korean smartphone maker had confirmed in August that it will remove advertisements from its stock apps with software updates later this year. Well, it looks like the wait is over and Samsung has officially removed ads from its apps on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Information published on the Samsung Members community forum confirms that the company has removed ads from its stock apps starting October 1, 2021.

Apart from the Samsung Health app, Samsung Pay, Samsung Themes, and Samsung Weather apps have gotten rid of the advertisements as well. Please note that these changes are being reflected on Samsung’s smartphones units in South Korea and the US right now. Users outside of these two countries might have to wait longer to see these changes on their devices. We might see Samsung removing advertisements from more apps over the next few weeks.

Here’s Samsung’s previous statement to The Verge confirming that it will remove advertisement (Dated August 18th, 2021)
