Shure has announced its Aonic 40 wireless headphones at the CES 2022 event in Las Vegas. It will join its elder sibling, the Shure Aonic 50, which debuted at the 2020 CES, and will bring some improvements at a more appealing price point.

This makes it convenient to carry while travelling. It is powered by 40mm drivers, whereas the Aonic 50 came with larger 50mm drivers. The Aonic 40 comes with 16-bit music support as opposed to the 32-bit support on the Aonic 50. Moreover, it gets an improved adjustable digital hybrid ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). The headphone supports SBC, AAC, AptX, and AptX-HD codecs.
The Aonic 40 has three levels of noise cancellation. It also gets an Environment Mode that can be accessed via its function keys to let in the ambient sound. This feature helps to interact with someone while listening to music.
The Shure Aonic 40, although being cheaper, comes with a fully customizable EQ via its ShurePlus Play app on Android and iOS. The software enables you to save any customised settings and also allows you to choose between three ANC options, among other functions. The software also comes with an inbuilt hi-res music player, which can be utilised for enhanced music experience on the Aonic 40.
Shure is bullish about the call quality of the Aonic 40, which is aided by the dual beamforming microphones. The company assures you of up to 25 hours of battery life even if the active noise cancellation is enabled. Also, the quick charge feature reportedly allows it to run for five hours in just 15 minutes of charging.
Shure Aonic 40 Price, Availability
The Aonic 40 is up for grabs in the U.S. now and is priced at $249 (approx. ₹18,500), which is significantly cheaper than the launch price of the Shure Aonic 50. It is available in two colour options, namely black and white.
