Skagen Falster Gen 6 Brings More Power, Faster Charging, AMOLED Display

Fossil, along with its Razer x Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch, took the wraps off its Skagen Falster Gen 6 smartwatch at the recently concluded CES 2022. The Skagen Falster Gen 6 boasts a similar design as its predecessors, albeit with minor improvements. For those not in the know, Skagen is a Danish watch brand that was acquired by Fossil in 2012. Fossil still continues to sell products under its original brand name.

Skagen Falster Gen 6 Features, Specifications

The Falster 6 is slightly smaller at a 41mm dial size when compared to the Falster 3, which came with a 42mm dial size. The watch sports a 1.28-inch AMOLED display, which should be legible under direct sunlight and also more energy-efficient than LCDs.

The smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Wear 4100+ platform, which promises 30% faster app loading times and improved energy efficiency when compared to the Falster 3. It also promises 2x faster charging speeds, delivering up to 80% in just 30 mins. It is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. 

You can take the smartwatch for a swim as it comes with 3ATM water resistance. You get a Google Assistant feature to voice control certain functions. The watch lets you make and receive calls owing to the speaker and microphone on board. You can enjoy your favourite music via Spotify or YouTube Music right on the watch itself. Apart from these features, it has a multitude of sports tracking features and a wellness app built-in. 

The Skagen Falster Gen 6 gets NFC support and Bluetooth 5.0 LE for wireless communication between your smartphone/tablet and the watch. It packs in a 310mAh battery pack under its hood, which is unchanged from the previous model.

The Falster Gen 6 comes with a mesh-type 20mm band, which is apparently the prime reason why people love the brand. The watch runs on Wear OS 2 out of the box but will be eligible for the latest Wear OS 3 later. 

Skagen Falster Gen 6 Price, Availability

The Skagen Falster Gen 6 is available at a starting price of $295 (around ₹21,800). Mesh band fans can get the watch in Black, Charcoal, and Silver colours. It is available for purchase via Skagen’s website as well as Amazon. However, there’s no word about its launch in India.
