Since the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series of flagship smartphones are just a day away, rumours and leaks are pouring in. A new report suggests that the handsets could be powered by Snapdragon processors in the Indian market. While many would be elated to hear this news, a few who expected to get their hands on the new Exynos 2200 chipset with AMD GPU would feel disappointed.
Despite the higher price tag compared to global models, Samsung has been persisting with the Exynos processors for its flagships in India, while the US variants are offered with Snapdragon processors. The difference in performance may not be evident in day-to-day regular usage, but the Exynos processors suffer during heavy gaming. That’s the sole reason why gamers opt for iPhones, OnePlus, or iQOO smartphones instead. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 were the recent foldable flagships that came with Snapdragon processors, and now we could see the whole 2022 Galaxy S22 lineup (Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra) powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

This report also corroborates with our earlier report, when Samsung failed to unveil the Exynos 2200 processor in an event scheduled for January 11 2022. It was later speculated by many that Samsung could be using the Snapdragon CPUs for the majority of the markets. It will join the Motorola Edge X30 handset in the Indian market, which is powered by the same processor. The upcoming OnePlus 10 Pro in India, too, will get the same processor.
