Sony released a stable Android 12 update for the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III last month. Now, the company has started rolling out the Android 12 builds for two more devices—the Sony Xperia 1 II and Xperia Pro. The stable Android 12 update for these devices is currently rolling out in the US, and the build also includes the January 2021 Android security patches.

The Android 12 update for the Xperia 1 II is currently rolling out to the global single-SIM variant (XQ-AT51), whereas the one for the Xperia Pro is rolling out to the dual SIM US variant (XQ-AQ62). As of now, the changelog of the Android 12 update for both these devices isn’t available. Additionally, it isn’t known as to when Sony will start seeding the Android 12 updates for the other Sony Xperia 1 II and Xperia variants.

If you have received the Android 12 update notification, make sure you take a backup of your data and charge the phone to 60 percent before updating the handset. The newly rolling Android 12 update will include all the latest Android 12 features such as revamped one-handed mode, improved security features, Nearby share, approximate location, camera and microphone indicator on the status bar, and much more.
