Stuffcool Introduces Ecolo Cables Made Of Recycled Plastic

Stuffcool, a Mumbai-based brand popular for its mobile cables and chargers, has launched its new Ecolo range of USB cables. According to the firm, it’s the first company to provide a sustainable cable. The Ecolo cables are made out of 96 percent PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) plastic and four percent polyester. Even the packaging is plastic-free. The Ecolo cables will be up for grabs in a 5A Type-C to Type-A Cable and a PD65W (Power Delivery) compatible Type-C to C Cable.

Stuffcool claims that even though its Ecolo cables are made from PCR plastic, that won’t hamper its performance or durability. Both the Type-C to Type-A and Type-C to Type-C cables are braided with flexible TPE material and are reinforced with an additional strain relief design to make it last longer. The brand says it has bend tested it for 30,000 times.

The Ecolo 5A Type-C cable can be used for the OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Huawei, Vivo, iQOO etc. devices that require high-powered cables for fast charging. The Type-C to Type-C cable can be used to charge all flagship smartphones from Samsung, OnePlus, Realme etc. and also MacBooks and iPads. This one also supports 3A 65-watt Power Delivery. Both cables are 1.5 metres long and can be effortlessly used in your home, office, and even in your car.

The company adds that these cables are certified by GRS (Global Recycle Standard), which apparently tracks and verifies the content of the recycled materials in the end product. So, the buyers can trust the brand and buy the products with assurance.

This is not the first time a company has attempted to bring sustainable products to India. Recently, Acer introduced its Vero laptop made of PCR in the country. It is estimated that about 8 million tons of plastic waste pollute the oceans every year. Millions of fishes, birds, and marine organisms get affected due to this. It is necessary to cut down plastic usage and Stuffcool seems to be doing its part in encouraging more brands to adopt this approach.

The Stuffcool Ecolo Type-C to Type-C is priced at ₹649. The Ecolo Type-C to Type-A cable comes with a price tag of ₹699. These cables are currently available to purchase via Stuffcool’s website but expect it to be listed on major online portals soon.
