Twitter is shutting down TweetDeck for Macs on July 1, 2022. Tweetdeck allows users to manage multiple Twitter accounts and lets them customise their feeds. As the macOS app gets discontinued, Tweetdeck is currently available as a web app and Chrome app. Meanwhile, Tweeten arrives as a suitable replacement for TweetDeck.

These can be configured to view the user’s Twitter timeline, direct messages, mentions, trends, etc. It’s a nifty way of keeping a tab on what’s hot on the app.
Earlier this month, TweetDeck announced that the app will be available for Mac users until July 1, 2022. The tweet says, “We’re saying goodbye to TweetDeck for the Mac app to focus on making TweetDeck even better and testing our new Preview. July 1 is the last day it’ll be available. You can still use TweetDeck on web and more invites to try the Preview will be rolling out over the next few months!”
Tweeten: An Alternative To TweetDeck
Tweeten is a pretty good alternative as it is based on TweetDeck. So, you’ll get a column-based interface which will allow you to view and manage tweets conveniently. Similar to TweetDeck, Tweeten also supports multiple accounts, interactive notifications, advanced search, and scheduled tweets.
Tweeten’s notifications system offers real-time updates on topics followed by the users. The app also includes a built-in GIF search bar that will make it easier for users to add GIFs to their tweets. It also has an advanced search system which will help users track their queries.
Additionally, Tweeten offers some novel features too. For instance, the app lets you make a few extra modifications from the settings menu. Some might even find Tweeten’s custom notifications to be better than that offered by Tweetdeck, as the former allows you to like and retweet directly from the notification. You can get the app here.
