Updated Alienware X15 R2, Alienware X17 R2 Get Intel’s 12th Gen CPUs: Specifications, Price

Dell unveiled the updated Alienware X15 and X17 gaming laptops at CES 2022. Now, after a couple of months, the Alienware X15 R2 and the Alienware X17 R2 have finally reached the shores of India. Both the models come with an exterior design similar to that of their predecessors. However, changes have been made to their internals. Let’s have a look at their specifications below.   

Alienware X15 R2, X17 R2: Features, Specifications

The updated Alienware X15 R2 sports a 15.6-inch screen and supports Full HD or QHD resolution. Also, you can choose from 165Hz, 240Hz, or 360Hz screen refresh rates. The bigger Alienware X17 R2 flaunts a 17.3-inch display with options of FHD 360Hz or UHD 165Hz panels. The displays on both models come with a 1ms response time that aids in gaming. The panels also support ComfortView Plus, Nvidia G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus features. 

The updated Alienware laptops are powered by Intel’s Alder Lake 12th Generation Intel Core i7-12700H or Core i9-12900H processors. The Alienware X17 R2 gets an additional Core i9 12900HK processor option. The laptops come with integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics and con be configured with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080Ti (16GB GDDR6) graphics option. The gaming laptops are equipped with the latest DDR5 RAM with clock speeds of up to 5,200 MHz and a capacity of up to 32GB. The laptops come with 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD storage. 

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with PowerShare, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, one Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card slot, and one HDMI 2.1 port, among others. The Alienware X17 R2 gets an additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, one Mini DisplayPort 1.4, and an RJ45 LAN port.  

Some other noteworthy features include programmable AlienFX lighting zones, xSeries keyboard with per-key RGB, N-key rollover technology, stereo speakers with tweeters, HD 720p camera with dual-array microphones and Windows Hello IR support, quad fans and Element 31 cooling tech, NVIDIA DLSS, Ray Tracing, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and many more.  The Alienware X15 R2 and X17 R2 are powered by a 6-cell 87Whr battery coupled with fast charging tech. The notebooks run on Windows 11 operating system out of the box. 

Alienware X15 R2, X17 R2: Price, Availability

The Alienware X15 R2 comes at a starting price of ₹2,49,990. The bigger Alienware X17 R2 starts at a price of ₹2,99,990 in India. Both models will be available for purchase at Dell Exclusive Stores, Dell.com, and other retail outlets.
