Vodafone Idea (Vi) has deployed its L900 technology in the 900MHz spectrum on 5773 sites in Gujarat to enhance network strength. This is said to complement 4G services in the 1800 MHz spectrum, resulting in stronger indoor network.
In the past year, the company has added 3460 4G sites in Gujarat alone. The telco has announced that users residing in commercial as well as residential areas in Surat and Ahmedabad will enjoy better voice and data experience even in crowded areas.

A creative campaign has been rolled out to communicate the benefits of the enhanced 4G network to customers in Ahmedabad & Surat. The campaign invites customers to experience seamless indoor network connectivity in Surat and Ahmedabad, including high rise apartments.
Deployment To Boost 4G Data Speeds
Moreover, Vodafone Idea states that the deployment of the 900 MHz spectrum in 5773 sites has boosted data speeds. Additionally, it has also helped improve indoor network coverage for Vi users in Gujarat. To enhance network coverage in user dense areas in the cities of Gujarat such as Anand, Ahmedabad, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara and Valsad, the telecom operator has deployed over 2542 ma-MIMO installations and 1377 small cells in the state.
Monishi Ghosh, Cluster Business Head, Gujarat, Vodafone Idea had this to say about the initiative:

As we continue our endeavours toward 5G readiness, we remain committed to bring the best in technology, products and services to keep delighting our customers.
Just last week, the company had announced that it successfully conducted 5G trials on Government-allocated 5G spectrum in Gandhinagar in Gujarat and Pune in Maharashtra. It was also reported that the company successfully demoed Voice over New Radio (VoNR) on Nokia devices. VoNR is touted to offer high-definition voice experience over 5G superior user experience on a reliable and low latency network when used commercially.
