Haryana is the latest state to get Vi’s (Vodafone Idea) WiFi calling feature. Vi WiFi promises seamless and extended coverage indoors by offering support for calls as long as you have WiFi connectivity. Vi has been the last major telecom provider to offer WiFi calling, with Airtel and Jio already supporting the feature.
Vi had started rolling out the service in a phased manner back in 2020. It offered to help users to overcome poor network connectivity issues that have been plaguing Vi. However, it is to be noted that you will have to switch on both VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling for a “seamless experience”.

How to Use Vi WiFi Calling
To enable Vi WiFi calling on your handset, you will have to first make sure that it is compatible with WiFi calling. You can check out the list of compatible devices on Vi’s website under compatible handsets. It goes without saying that you’ll need WiFi connectivity, along with an active Vi 4G SIM. Additionally, you will have to ensure that Voice over WiFi is enabled.
Vi WiFi Calling Benefits
Since Wi-Fi calling makes use of the WiFi network, it comes in handy indoors where you’ll most likely be connected to WiFi but have weak mobile network coverage. It promises better voice quality with less chances of call drops. You can also make international calls with this feature. The Vi WiFi calling service is free for subscribers with unlimited plans. Those with other packs will be charged according to the base tariff plan.
