Vivo is set to announce the Vivo X90 series before the end of this year. And as is par for the course, there have been many leaks and rumours detailing the features and specifications. For instance, several leaks have revealed that the Vivo X90 series will feature the upcoming flagship chipsets from Qualcomm and MediaTek. There will be two versions of the phone, one with a Qualcomm processor and the other with a MediaTek Dimensity processor.
A new report now details the smartphone’s camera configuration, at least on the flagship model in the X90 series, likely the Vivo X90 Pro Plus. The report, made by GSMArena, claims the flagship Vivo X90 Pro Plus will use the same 1-inch camera sensor used previously in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.
Vivo X90 Series Camera Specifications Leaked
The report reveals the Vivo X90 series will include the same 50MP 1-inch image sensor, similar to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Using a big 1-inch sensor means that the smartphone’s camera will come ever closer to a professional DSLR or a mirrorless camera. To fit a large image sensor inside a phone chassis already crammed with dozens of components is a big feat, overcoming physical constraints to make it possible. Sony and Samsung have seemingly overcome the challenge, and the sensor is already in public.
The flagship Vivo X90 Pro+ is also expected to house a 64MP Omnivision image sensor for the telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom lens with three-stage exposure HDR photography for improved low light shots. The phone is also expected to include a 50MP portrait lens, which will be specially tuned for professional portraits like last time.
The Vivo X90 series will continue its partnership with Zeiss optics which is expected to lend its expertise to tuning the camera algorithms and its patented T-star coating.
