The Vivo Y21A adds to the confusing and enormous list of Vivo’s ‘Y’ series smartphones in India. The mid-range ‘Y’ series of smartphones are the bread and butter of the Chinese company in India, and it keeps churning smartphones in the lineup one after the other. Last week, it launched the Vivo Y21e in the country, and the latest entrant, the Vivo Y21A too shares similar design cues. However, the Y21A is powered by a MediaTek chipset as opposed to the Snapdragon on the Vivo Y21e. Let’s dive into it to understand what makes it different.
Vivo Y21A Features, Specifications
The Vivo Y21A measures 164.26×76.08×8.00mm and is built entirely out of polycarbonate. It persists with a ‘V’-type notch even in 2022 and gets a thick bottom chin bezel. It sports a 6.51-inch HD+ display with 1600×720 pixels resolution. The smartphone is powered by a rather old MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core chipset, which was introduced way back in 2018. It is equipped with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone provides RAM expansion tech that allows you to expand it by 1 GB at the expense of internal memory.
In the photography department, it comes with a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture lens. For the selfie aficionados, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture at the front.
