Vivo is on a launch spree with the addition of yet another mid-range handset to its Y series. The latest Vivo Y55s 5G makes its debut in the Chinese market and also happens to be Vivo’s first smartphone with an enormous 6,000mAh battery. The handset comes with a dual rear camera setup and offers a large display. The company has equipped the device with a MediaTek Dimensity processor and 8GB of RAM. Let us take a closer look at the specifications, features, and price of the Vivo Y55s 5G.

The Vivo Y55s offers a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ (2,408 x 1,080 pixel) resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It comes with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and features a waterdrop notch. The handset offers a dual rear camera setup and an LED flash. The primary 50MP sensor on the device is accompanied by a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, the device is equipped with an 8MP shooter.

The Vivo Y55s 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor built on a 7nm fabrication process. This is the same processor that powers several other mid-range handsets such as the Redmi Note 10T 5G, Realme 8 5G, POCO M3 Pro, and more. The MediaTek Dimensity 700 brings with it an integrated Mali G57 GPU, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The handset also offers 4GB of Virtual RAM and boots Android 11 with Vivo’s OriginOS 1.0 on top.

Powering the handset is a 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. It comes with a USB Type-C charging port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, dual SIM, Dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS. The Vivo Y55s measures 163.87 x 75.33 x 9.17mm and weighs 199.8grams. The handset is available in Mirror Lake Blue, Sakura Pink, and Ceramic Black color options. It is priced at CNY 1,699 (approximately ₹20,220) for the 8GB + 128GB variant. Vivo is yet to announce the global availability of the handset.
