Let’s check out the details of the latest VLC media player update and find out what it has in store for users.
VLC Media Player Version 3.3: Here’s What’s New
VLC media player is a free open source cross-platform multimedia player that allows you to play all your movies, shows, and music in most formats directly without conversion. The multimedia player has been updated to the latest version 3.3, which adds a new video player interface for iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS users alongside other improvements.
The local media library gets a fresh look for audio files with a full black theme. You can now sort tracks and albums in media library by insertion date. Further, the new update allows playback from external devices. It also includes major speed and performance improvements to avoid heating issues.
Besides bringing in some major improvements to the video player interface, the VLC 3.3 adds support for SAT>IP, including custom channel lists. After installing the latest version, selecting Previous during music playback will reset the playback position instead of directly going to the previous item in the list. The update also fixes small bugs.
VLC 3.3 version has started rolling out to all users. The latest update supports all devices running 9.0 or later, which means older devices including the iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and first-gen iPad mini can still run this application. The update is also available for Apple TV HD owners.
