The report suggests that the upcoming subscription model will be launched exclusively for WhatsApp Business accounts. WhatsApp Premium is said to be a subscription plan that will bring additional features to WhatsApp Business accounts. However, the report did not mention any specifics about the plan to be launched.
Currently, the messaging app permits users to link up to four devices with the multi-device feature. With WhatsApp Premium, users will be able to link and name up to ten devices. Further, the app may allow businesses to create unique custom business links. Notably, WhatsApp Business accounts can already use short links allowing customers to contact them. While a custom link will serve the same purpose as a short link, it is easier to remember and provides branding.
WhatsApp is also working on allowing users to silently depart a group chat, without getting noticed by every member of the group. You can head to our recent coverage for the same.
