According to a new report, WhatsApp is working on a reply indicator for status updates. Moreover, business profiles will be allowed to add a cover photo as a part of WhatsApp Desktop beta.

WhatsApp has been developing features for status updates over the past few weeks. Recently, it was reported that the Meta-owned company is working on a function that will generate rich previews when adding a link as a text status update. A new report by WABetaInfo now states that a new status reply indicator is in the works.
The screenshot shows that while replying to a status update, WhatsApp will display a new icon which differentiates it from regular chats. This could offer context when you receive a quick reaction to your status updates. The report states that this feature could be arriving for WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and desktop.

Cover Photo For WhatsApp Business Profiles
While WhatsApp Business for iOS will allow business accounts to add cover photos to their profile, this feature isn’t available for Android and desktop apps. The popular messaging app is reportedly working on a WhatsApp beta for Android. Now, a preview for the desktop beta is also available.
As seen in the screenshot, you will be able to add a custom cover photo for your business profile in a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta. Do note that this feature will not be available for standard WhatsApp accounts.
