Microsoft has announced the latest update for Windows 11, promising new features to increase productivity. The update offers better connectivity features, enhanced security, and more flexibility. The software giant also aims to provide more frequent Windows 11 updates, in addition to the usual annual update. From next month, Microsoft will be building on top of version 22H2, introducing a host of new features.

The update includes improved Snap layouts to make it more versatile, with better touch navigation. It also allows users to snap multiple browser tabs in Microsoft Edge.
Another interesting feature is Smart App Control, which protects your PC by blocking applications that are untrusted or unsigned. It also prevents malicious macros and script files from running on Windows 11.
Additionally, the update is bringing a host of new accessibility features such as system wide live captions. Now, captions will be automatically generated from audio that’s available on Windows 11. It also includes a new function which will let you control your PC with your voice. There’s also a new Natural Voices for Narrator with a more natural-sounding audio.
The new Windows Studio camera helps improve the quality of conference calls with advanced AI. It is accompanied by Voice Focus to eliminate background noise. It also has a Background Blur feature. The Automatic Framing function keeps you in focus even if you move around.
Windows 11 is also getting a first-party video editing app called Clipchamp. The app lets you use templates and add fun effects to videos.
Windows 11 Version 22H2 October Update
Here are all the features that will be rolling out for Windows 11 version 22H2 in October:
Microsoft will make it convenient to navigate File Explorer with a new tabs option. This will be similar to the tab functionality seen on Microsoft Edge. File Explorer will also get a new homepage, which will list out your recent files and favorites. Moreover, you will be able to pin important files on top so that you can quickly access them without having to wade through a hierarchy of folders.
Additionally, the Photos app will get a mini makeover, with a new gallery design. The UI will also be updated to make browsing easier.
While copying phone numbers, a new UI will pop up, suggesting options such as making a call with Teams or Skype. When you copy future dates, a suggested action will ask you to add an event in the Calendar app.
The taskbar will be able to handle overflowed apps better, with a new entry point to the overflow menu. Additionally, users will be able to share to more devices with Nearby Share.
The latest 22H2 update is available for all Windows 11 users. To receive the update immediately, navigate to Settings > Windows Update and check for the newest version.
