Windows 12 Could Be Announced In 2024

Microsoft’s Windows update cycle appears to be changing. According to a recent piece by Windows Central, Microsoft is reportedly returning to its traditional practice of delivering significant new Windows versions every three years. This implies that the Windows 12 build may be released in 2024.

The report claims that Microsoft appears to have scrapped “Sun Valley 3”, their upcoming significant update. The update is instead scheduled for 2024 by the company. Despite this, Microsoft has not yet stopped developing Windows 11. Some of the new features that Microsoft will be releasing for current Windows 11 customers will be available for Insiders to test first. Microsoft currently releases at least four feature-rich updates every year, and it is anticipated that this pattern will continue for at least another year with Windows 11.

There isn’t much information available at this moment about the Windows release scheduled for 2024. Although Windows Central mentions that this version could be codenamed “Next Valley”, it’s now in the early planning and engineering stages. People inside the company are calling it by this moniker in chats, as per the publication.

The company’s roadmap could change at any point because these advancements are still in their very early phases. The fact that Microsoft has reverted to its previous product refresh schedule indicates that the business is serious about adding new features to OS. These changes are still quite substantial.
