Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced at the annual Build conference that Xbox Cloud Gaming has surpassed 10 million players. The gaming service has racked up this impressive subscriber base just two years after it was launched as xCloud back in 2020.
At Build, Nadella said that Xbox Cloud Gaming has exceeded a subscriber count of 10 million players in 26 countries. The CEO noted:
We’re bringing Xbox everywhere with Xbox Cloud Gaming. More than 10 million Xbox players have streamed games across 26 countries.

These include Android devices as well as Apple products such as iPhone and iPads. He pitched the tech as being convenient for developers, saying, “One of the coolest things is that as a game developer, there’s no need to change your code. As a game developer, you can publish to the Xbox store and your game can be accessible on every device”.

Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming is available in the Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass. Currently, it costs ₹499 per month in India. The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan lets you play over 100 games, including AAA titles such as Forza Horizon 5, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Rainbow 6 Siege. Moreover, you can enjoy other goodies such as Xbox Live Gold and EA Play membership.
Xbox Cloud Gaming’s success comes as no surprise as Microsoft has been pushing its streaming services with the attractive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The service allows you to play video games even if you don’t own an Xbox. Moreover, it joined hands with Epic Games to offer Fortnite for free. The popular title is otherwise unavailable on Apple’s App Store thanks to the Epic Games vs Apple lawsuit.
