Microsoft has announced that it’s changing the name of its Xbox Game Pass for PC to simply PC Game Pass. The rebranding was made public during The Game Awards on Thursday. Its logo, however, still sports the Xbox symbol.
It appears that the company’s gaming department is going for a platform-agnostic approach, with its push towards dropping ‘Xbox’ to a simpler ‘PC Game Pass’. It also rolls off the tongue better. Prior to this, Microsoft offered the Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass for PC, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. The naming convention wrongly led you to believe that they were exclusively for Xbox games.
