In other words, the feature leaves multiple games in a suspended state for you to resume quickly later. While it sounds like an amazing feature, the games on standby can come back in action at any time, which could be an unusual experience for gamers.
In order to make the Quick Resume more reliable, the brand will soon update it to give users more control over what games remain in the suspended state. Xbox engineering lead Eden Marie stated on Twitter that Xbox insiders in the alpha ring will soon be able to test this new feature.
The new feature will allow you to choose two games to keep permanently in a suspended state, without affecting others. You will be able to do that by simply pressing the view button on a game, to “pin” it into Quick Resume. Xbox will always prioritize that app for you to quickly resume later. The pinned apps will be displayed in the Quick Resume group with a pin icon.
Furthermore, opening other apps won’t impact the apps added to the Quick Resume group. While the latest feature has been rolled out to Xbox Insiders in the testing Alpha ring, it will be available for the public version of the Xbox XIS OS a few weeks later.
Clearly, the new update allows more flexibility to users while providing a consistent gaming experience. What are your thoughts on the latest update to “Quick Resume” feature for Xbox? Let us know in the comments section below.
