Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 12 Lite smartphone in markets like Malaysia and Philippines. And like the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G last year, there is reportedly a successor to the lightweight 5G device, called the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE, that will purportedly replace last year’s Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. The smartphone has been certified by the IMDA authority of Singapore, hinting at an imminent launch in the country.

As per the certification, Xiaomi will be launching a smartphone with model number ending in 22101 and 29SG. The former is the Xiaomi CIVI 2 smartphone, while the latter is rumoured to be a global variant with some similarities.
Xiaomi is targeting the CIVI 2 towards its female fan base in China, with a lightweight body. The Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE could also bear a lot of similarities with some meaningful tweaks here and there, carved for a global audience.
Xiaomi CIVI 2 aka Xiaomi 12 Lite NE 5G Specifications (Expected)
The recently launched Xiaomi CIVI 2 features a 6.5-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor coupled with up to 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, along with a 4,500mAh battery and 67W fast charging.
The punch-hole camera cutout on the front has a dual camera stack featuring a 32MP primary selfie camera and another 32MP ultrawide camera. On the back is a 50MP Sony IMX766 triple camera unit.
