Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 12 Lite smartphone in markets like Malaysia and Philippines. And like the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G last year, there is reportedly a successor to the lightweight 5G device, called the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE, that will purportedly replace last year’s Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. The smartphone has been certified by the IMDA authority of Singapore, hinting at an imminent launch in the country.
Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G Spotted On IMDA Certification
According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE certification listing reveals the model numbers corresponding to the Xiaomi CIVI 2 smartphone that launched on September 27. As per the certification, Xiaomi will be launching a smartphone with model number ending in 22101 and 29SG. The former is the Xiaomi CIVI 2 smartphone, while the latter is rumoured to be a global variant with some similarities.
Xiaomi is targeting the CIVI 2 towards its female fan base in China, with a lightweight body. The Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE could also bear a lot of similarities with some meaningful tweaks here and there, carved for a global audience.
