Xiaomi 12 with 6.28″ FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and 50MP Sony IMX766 Lens confirmed

Xiaomi is all set to launch the Xiaomi 12 series next week in China. The company is expected to announce the Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12 Pro on December 28th. Ahead of the launch, the company has now confirmed some key specifications of the Xiaomi 12. Also, Evan Blass has leaked the renders and a promotional video of the device. Let us take a look at the key specifications of the Xiaomi 12 series devices as well as the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro teasers shared by the company.

Xiaomi 12 Confirmed Specifications

The Xiaomi 12 will flaunt a 6.28-inch 12-bit AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The company has revealed that the flexible AMOLED display for the Xiaomi 12 has been manufactured by TCL Huaxing. It will also support DC dimming. The display will also house a 32MP selfie camera inside a centered punch-hole notch. The device is also confirmed to offer a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. This is the same sensor that we have already seen on several devices including the OnePlus Nord 2, OnePlus 9RT, Realme GT Master Explorer Edition, Oppo Reno7 Pro, and more.

The company, in the official teasers, also compared the Xiaomi 12 with the iPhone 13, and revealed that the Xiaomi 12 will be around 69.9mm wide. It claims that the Xiaomi 12 will be easier to hold since iPhone 13 is about 1.6mm wider compared to it. The leaked promotional video of the Xiaomi 12 confirms that the device will come in four colour variants—black, blue, pink, and green. The green colour variant of the handset appears to have a faux leather finish.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Specifications (Confirmed)

Alongside the Xiaomi 12, the company has also confirmed key specifications of the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The Xiaomi 12 Pro will support 120W fast charging, thanks to Xiaomi’s in-house P1 chip. The handset will also pack a 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED display with QHD resolution. Xiaomi is using a second-generation LTPO display which allows it to shuffle the refresh rate between 10Hz to 120Hz.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro will also mark the debut of the Sony IMX 707 1/1.28-inch sensor with 50MP resolution. Alongside the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro, the company is also expected to launch the Xiaomi 12X. However, it hasn’t unveiled any teasers for the upcoming Xiaomi 12X. The Xiaomi 12X is said to feature a 6.28-inch screen and might be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro, on the other hand, will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
