Xiaomi is prepping up to introduce its Android 12-based MIUI 13 software update in a few days. It was rumoured that the company would launch MIUI 13 by the end of August 2021. However, that didn’t happen even though the company was among the first to announce support for Android 12 soon after Google released the stable version of Android 12. Now, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed the possible launch timeline of the MIUI 13 update. According to him, MIUI 13 development is on track and the software update will arrive by the end of this year. Apart from revealing the MIUI 13 update release timeline, Xiaomi CEO also took the opportunity to call attention to MIUI 12.5’s battery optimization which is contributing to the Redmi Note 11 Pro’s great battery life.

It is also tipped to introduce a Memory Expansion feature, similar to the Virtual RAM feature that is found on Samsung, iQOO, and Vivo smartphones.
Xiaomi is also expected to add the Floating Game Window feature, an updated Control Centre design, newer animations, new icons, and advanced privacy and security. Previously, the floating window feature was enabled only for a few apps. However, it is now being rumoured that Xiaomi will enable the feature for games as well. We also expect Xiaomi to add fresh live wallpapers. Although the MIUI 13 release date hasn’t been announced, we expect the information to be released within the next few weeks.
It is rumoured that Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 12 smartphone in December 2021. It could be the world’s first smartphone to feature the upcoming Snapdragon 898 processor. The device will reportedly use a 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display, a 50MP primary camera, a 5000mAh battery, 120W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless fast charging.
