Xiaomi has launched a new tablet—the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 under the Xiaomi Pad 5 lineup in the Chinese market. The Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is the company’s fourth tablet under the Xiaomi Pad 5 lineup. To those unaware, the brand already has Xiaomi Pad 5, Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G under the Pad 5 portfolio in China.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4, as the name suggests, offers a 12.4-inch display panel with a 2.5K resolution and Dolby Vision support. Xiaomi is yet to reveal the global availability of the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4. However, based on past records and recent findings, chances of the tablet launching in global markets are slim.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4: Specifications And Features

The latest Pad 5 series tablet flaunts a 12.4-inch WQHD+ (2560 × 1600 pixel) resolution, 244ppi pixel density, and 500nits peak brightness. It has a 120Hz refresh rate panel that features up to 240Hz touch sampling rate and a 1,500: 1 contrast ratio. It offers a DCI-P3 colour gamut and supports HDR10 as well as Dolby Vision content. The display panel also features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The latest Xiaomi tablet is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, clocked at up to 3.2GHz frequency, and is fabbed on TSMC’s 7nm manufacturing process. The graphics duties on the Snapdragon 870 are taken care of by an Adreno 650 GPU. The tablet comes paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS3.1 storage.

The all-new Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 offers a dual-rear camera setup including a 50MP primary shooter with a 1/2.76-inch sensor size, an F1.8 aperture, and PDAF. The second rear sensor on the tablet is a 2MP depth sensor. The tablet relies on a 20MP Sony IMX596 sensor for video calls and selfies.

The all-new Xiaomi tablet comes equipped with a 10,000mAh battery unit and 67W fast charging support. It features a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port for charging and data transfers. The tablet packs a quad stereo speaker setup and also offers Dolby Atmos audio support. It lacks a 3.5mm audio jack, hence the audio is routed through a Type-C port.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 retails in three colour options—black, silver, and green. It boots MIUI 13 for Pad, which is based on Android 12. It weighs 620 grams and measures 284.96 × 185.23 × 6.66mm. Connectivity options of the tablet include WiFi 6, WiFi Direct, Miracast, and Bluetooth 5.2.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is compatible with the Xiaomi Pen which costs ￥349 (approx. ₹4,120) in China. The Pen attaches magnetically to the right edge of the tablet. There is also a Xiaomi Keyboard Folio case which is priced at ￥469 (approx. ₹5,530) and is available in white and black colour options.
