YouTube is rolling out a few nifty features with its latest update. You will be able to skip directly to the most interesting parts of the video with the app’s “most replayed” feature. Moreover, the update brings other functionalities such as “Single Loop”, “Video Chapters”, and more.
Let’s have a closer look at the new features that accompany YouTube’s latest update.
YouTube Most Replayed Section
You will no longer have to endure your favourite YouTuber’s long-winded intros or boring bits by skipping to the most replayed parts of the video. You’ll be able to view a graph spread across the progress bar, which indicates how popular that section is. YouTube explains, “If the graph is high, then that part of the video has been replayed often”. This feature is now available on both desktop and mobile apps.
Video Chapters On Gaming Consoles And Smart TVs
Video chapters divide the YouTube video into topic-specific chapters, which helps you jump to the part that you want to watch. Although it was launched back in May 2020, the feature wasn’t available on all devices. Now, this functionality arrives on Smart TVs as well as gaming consoles.
YouTube adds, “Soon we’ll be testing a new and easier way for you to seek to the exact moment in a video that you want to watch. If you’re a Premium member, keep an eye out for this on youtube.com/new”. Currently, you can skip to the next video chapter by either long pressing on the player or double tapping with 2 fingers.
New Full Screen Mode In YouTube App
YouTube’s full screen mode will now feature a new panel which will show you the video description, comments, video chapters, and more. The app also gets new quick action buttons such as like, dislike, comment, share, and add to playlist.
