Amazon has announced the Kindle Scribe, which comes with pen input for the first time. The Scribe features the largest Kindle screen yet, a 10.2-inch glare-free Paperwhite display. It also includes a Basic Pen, which can be used to jot down notes or scribbles. When you’re done writing, the pen can be easily attached to the Kindle magnetically.

It has a glare-free display, making it apt for reading as well as writing even under direct sunlight. Amazon claims that the surface makes you feel like you’re writing on paper. Furthermore, it comes with a Basic Pen for writing or drawing. You can also choose the Premium Pen which offers additional features such as a dedicated eraser and a shortcut button. The button allows you to switch between pen, highlighter, and more.
Now, instead of annotating boring notes to your Kindle eBooks, you can attach handwritten sticky notes. You can use the Kindle Scribe to not only read books, but also as a journal of sorts. It can function as a notebook, thanks to the inbuilt templates like lined paper, blank paper, and more. A new Kindle app sync feature will be released in 2023, allowing you easy access to your notebooks.
You can also keep a repository of your important PDF files and Microsoft Word documents by exporting them to your Kindle Scribe. The docs can be conveniently sent via your desktop web browser or right from the Kindle app by hitting the “Share” button on your Android or iOS device.
Despite these cool new writing features, the Amazon Scribe doesn’t skimp on the reading aspect. For a more comfortable reading experience, it comes with adjustable warm light and front light. It comes with support for USB-C charging and is said to feature a long battery life. Amazon claims that it can be powered for months of reading and weeks of writing.

The Amazon Kindle Scribe is available in variants with 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of onboard storage. Its price starts from $339 (around ₹27,630) with the standard pen.
