Apple Unveils Third-Generation AirPods With Improved Audio, Longer Battery Life, New Design

During its Unleashed event today, Apple announced its new-generation AirPods. The Apple AirPods 3rd Gen. come with an improved design, better audio quality, and longer battery life. They also feature Spatial Audio and a new MagSafe-compatible charging case. The new AirPods have a contoured design, similar to the AirPods Pro, but they lack rubber ear tips for a more secure fit. They now last up to 30 hours on a single charge, which is an improvement over previous-generation AirPods. Let us have a look at the AirPods 3rd Gen. features and pricing.

Apple AirPods Features, Specifications

The AirPods 3rd Gen. features a contoured design with a smaller stem than the original and second-generation AirPods. Each earbud has a force sensor for media controls. Plus, the earbuds and the case have an IPX4 rating for sweat and water splash resistance. Apple has used a custom driver and a high dynamic range amplifier to produce powerful bass with crisp and clean high frequencies. These new earbuds also feature Adaptive EQ. Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking and support for Dolby Atmos audio.

Each earbud has three microphones, and an acoustic mesh covers them to reduce the sound of the wind. They also feature Apple’s AAC-ELD audio codec for a superior voice quality during FaceTime calls. Similar to previous-generation AirPods, the newer model features infrared sensors for automatic wear detection, automatic play/pause, and Hey Siri voice commands. During Group FaceTime calls, it supports Spatial Audio and head tracking.

The new AirPods are also compatible with the Find My service, making it easier to find them when they are lost. When you can’t find them, you can activate the Lost Mode, which renders them useless and can only be used when paired again with Apple ID-registered iPhones, iPads, or Macs.

The AirPods 3rd Gen. last up to six hours on a single charge. Combined with the battery inside the charging case, the new AirPods last up to 30 hours of music playback. The new charging case features a Lighting Port, but they are also compatible with Qi wireless charging and MagSafe wireless charging.

Apple AirPods 3rd Gen (2021) Price In India

The Apple AirPods 3rd Gen. (2021) price in India is ₹18,500. They are available for pre-order starting today via Apple’s online store and can be purchased starting October 26, 2021.

Apple has reduced the pricing of the AirPods 2nd Gen. to ₹12,900. The AirPods Pro now come with the new MagSafe-compatible charging case, and they will continue to be sold for ₹24,900.
