Apple is rolling out the third beta of iOS 15.5 to developers, a week after iOS 15.5 beta 2 was released. While iOS 15.4 was packed with various features such as new emojis, Face ID support with mask, Universal Control, and more, iOS 15.5 was somewhat of a damp squib. The latest update offers under-the-hood changes with bug fixes and minor tweaks.
iOS 15.5 beta 3 mostly contains some text changes. Apple replaced the text “people who are using an Apple device” with “contacts who are using iMessage”. Reading between the lines, it could mean that the iPhone maker might be planning to comply with EU regulations. Or perhaps it could finally bring iMessage to Android smartphones.

So far, iOS 15.5 has introduced a few new tweaks. The first beta added Wi-Fi signal strength indicators in the Home app for HomePods. Additionally, it made some tweaks within the Wallet app. The second beta hinted that Apple Pay will soon support Bancomat and Bancontact networks.
Alongside iOS 15.5 beta 3, the iPhone maker also rolled out watchOS 8.6 beta 3 and macOS Monterey 12.4 beta 3. It is speculated that iOS 15.5 could be the last major update for iOS 15, since Apple will reportedly announce iOS 16 at WWDC in June.
