Apple, at its Peek Performance event, unveiled the iPad Air 2022 along with iPhone SE (third generation) and the M1 Ultra. The iPad Air 5 retains the 10.9-inch display panel from its predecessor. This time around, Apple is using M1 Silicon on the iPad Air, which the company first brought to the iPad lineup with the iPad Pro last year.

iPad Air 5: Price and Availability
The iPad Air 5comes in two storage options—64GB and 256GB. Users will also have an option to choose between WiFi and WiFi + Cellular (5G) connectivity option.

The iPad Air 2022 will be available for pre-order starting March 11 in several regions including India and will be up for sale March 18 onwards. It is compatible with Apple Pencil (2nd generation) which costs ₹10,900. Apple is also offering a range of compatible cases including the Magic Keyboard.

iPad Air 5: Specifications and Features
The iPad Air 2022 features a 10.9 inch True Tone Retina display with a 2360 × 1640 pixel resolution, 264ppi pixel density, and 500nits peak brightness. The display on the iPad Air 5 appears to be the same as its predecessor.
Under the hood, the iPad Air 5 sports an octa-core M1 chip that comprises four performance cores and four efficiency cores. Apple’s in-house M1 chip is built on a 5nm fabrication process and comes with an integrated 8 core GPU and 16 core Neural engine. The latest iPad Air comes pre-loaded with iPadOS 15.
The iPad Air 2022 is equipped with a 12MP rear camera that has an F1.8 aperture and supports Smart HDR3. For selfies and video calls, it has a 12MP TrueDepth camera with a 122° field of view, an F2.4 aperture, and Centre Stage.
The iPad Air 5 gets a 28.6-watt hour battery which can last for up to 10 hours. It makes use of a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port for charging and data transfers. In terms of connectivity, it offers WiFi 6 802.11ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.
The iPad Air 5 measures 247.6 × 178.5 × 6.1mm and weighs 461grams. It offers a top-mounted fingerprint scanner that is integrated into the power button. It features dual-microphone setup and a quad-stereo speaker setup.
The iPad Air 2022 comes in five colour options—Starlight, Blue, Pink, Purple, and Space Grey.
