He expects that the iPhone maker will opt for a toned-down rollout, simply announcing the new device on its website. Gurman believes that the lack of fanfare could be attributed to the absence of significant upgrades, since the device gets minor changes and sports the same old look as its predecessors.
The upcoming iPad Pro models, codenamed J617 and J620, will have a similar design as their predecessor. Ever since 2018, iPads have sported a slick, flat-edged design, and we can expect the same from the next-gen versions.
As for the processor, Gurman states that it will be powered by an M2 chip. According to rumors, the new iPad Pro might support wireless and MagSafe charging.
iPad 10 To Arrive With USB-C Support
Meanwhile, the Bloomberg reporter reiterates his predictions for the 10th-generation iPad. He states that the entry-level iPad will sport a 10.5-inch display. It will also sport flat edges and support USB-C. As for the software, iPadOS 16.1 will likely be introduced sometime next week.
More Apple Products In The Pipeline
Although Apple is preparing to release the new MacBook Pros in the near future, Gurman doesn’t expect them to launch alongside the iPad Pro. The firm is known to typically launch new Macs in November, so we can hope for a release next month. The company is also working on other Apple devices, such as the M2 Mac mini as well as an Apple TV powered by an A14 processor.
