The newest update to the Apple Watch Operating System brings along a host of new features such as an improved battery life, better support for downloading songs from Apple Music, and more.
Apple watchOS 9.1 Update: Here’s What’s New
The latest watchOS 9.1 update is available for the Apple Watch Series 4 and newer models. To update your Apple Watch you can head to the Settings app > General > Software Update. Alternatively, you can access the Watch app available on your iPhone and follow the same steps to download and install the latest watchOS 9 update.

According to the update release notes, Apple watchOS 9.1 offers various bug fixes and security improvements, along with the following features:
- Improved Battery Life: Battery life extended during Outdoor Walking, Running, and Hiking Workouts with the ability to reduce the frequency of heart rate and GPS readings on Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) and Apple Watch Ultra.
- Apple Music Upgrades: Apple Music can download while Apple Watch is off the charger using Wi-Fi or cellular
- Matter Support: Matter, the new smart home connectivity standard, is supported and enables a wide variety of smart home accessories to work together across ecosystems
Furthermore, the iPhone maker has also released the iOS 16.1 update, which brings along features such as Live activities, Matter support, iCloud shared photo library, Clean energy charging, and a tweaked battery percentage icon. Additionally, the latest version of the Apple TV Operating System, tvOS 16.1, brings along an all-new Siri experience with a new design, personalized recommendations, and more.
